ニューヨークでハリケーンサンディの被害が深刻になっています。
あの大都会で、停電が何日も続き、地下鉄もずっと止まって、
ガソリンスタンドも長蛇の列。
The damage by the storm Sandy has been severer in New York.
In such a big city, blackout has continued for days, the subway has stopped its operation
and long queue in front of gas station.
El daño por la tormenta Sandy ha sido más grave en Nueva York.
En la ciudad tan grande, apagón ha seguido por días, metro ha parado su operación
y la gente hace cola larga para gasolina.
3.11の状況が、蘇りました。
All reminded me of the devastated city by 3.11.
Todo me recordó la ciudad devastada por 3.11
違うのは、地震が東京みたいな大都市で起こらなかったこと。
東京で起こっていたら、今のニューヨークみたいな感じだったのかな(>_<)。
もっとずっとひどかったかも。
The difference was that the earthquake did not occur in a metropolitan city like Tokyo.
If it had happened in Tokyo, the situation might have been like that in New York..
Or it could have been much worse.

ノーベル医学・生理学賞を受賞した山中伸弥教授は
一番弟子の高橋講師なくしては、ここまでくることはできなかったかも、
と言われていました。
Shinya Yamanaka, who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine
mentioned that without his right-hand researcher Takahashi, he could not have come this far.

何度も何度も失敗を繰り返しても
やめずにひたすら実験を続けたんだんって。
Kazutoshi Takahashi is a very optimistic person, loves experiment.
Despite of repetitive failures,
he never gave up and just kept it going.

中国雲南省の少数民族ハニ族は、世界一を誇る棚田を、
1,300年にも渡り保持しています☆
Hani, the ethnic minority in province of Yunnan, China has maintained and protected the world-largest rice terraces for 1,300 years.

棚田は計り知れないような広さで、標高もとても高いんだって！
The rice terraces are immeasurably large and altitude is so very high too!

稻作業は、何キロも歩いたり、何十キロもの米を運んだり、
本当に重労働(>_<)．
家族、親戚、友人、近所の人、皆がそれぞれ助け合って作業します。
Rice farming is such a hard work requiring them to walk dozens of kilometers and carry rice bags of dozens of kilograms.
Not only the family, but relatives, friends, neighbors, and everyone help each other for the work.
El trabajo del cultivo del arroz es muy duro requiriendo que caminar docenas de kilómetro de camino y llevar las bolsas de arroz de docenas de kilogramo.

自分たちの祖先が、ずーーっと絶やさず、続けてくれたことを、

なんと！！
イタリアで、防災庁の学者が2009年の大地震の予知をできなかったことで
禁固刑4年を求刑されたそうです！
Wow..! In Italy, the scientists who failed to give adequate warning of the earthquake in 2009 were demanded to be jailed for four years!
¡Qué sorpresa! ¡En Italia los científicos que no dieron una advertencia adecuada del terremoto en 2009 fueron pedido condenar a cuatro años de prisión!

I did not know that severe judgment is made in the country!

と、この事実にもビックリしましたが、
その前に、同年に小さな地震が何百回も起こっていたその地で、
科学者が「大地震の可能性は低い」という発表をしていた、という事実にも
かなりビックリです！
This fact was pretty surprising to me, but before that, it was rather astonishing that
the scientists had announced that the possibility is big earthquake there is limited...!

でも、やっぱり現実は難しい(>_<)。
But it is hard to make decision in reality...

「大地震が起こります」と言えば、市民はパニックになり、
「大地震は起こりません」と言えば、油断しちゃって、この2009年イタリアのように
被害がより大きくなってしまいます。
どうしたらいいんだろう。。。(T_T)。
If it is officially predicted that " there will be a large earthquake", then that will panic the citizen.
On the other hand, if the prediction is " there won't be a large earthquake", then people would be too relaxed to result in the more serious damage like the case in Italy in 2009.
Well... what should we do then....?
Si se predice oficialmente que "habré terremoto grande", y la gente entrarán el pánico.
Sin embargo, si el predicción es "no habré terremoto grande", y la gente sería demasiado relajado, que resultará en un daño más serio como la case de Italia en 2009.

Apparently, Japans is also a country of earthquake.
Aparentemente, Japón es también un país con terremoto.
でも、日本で耳にすることは、常に私達に「地震はいつでも起こりえる」って
認識させるような警告みたいなことばかり。
But in Japan, all that we hear is some sort of warning that makes us aware that earthquake can happen in any moment.
Pero aquí en Japón, todo lo que oímos es algo como advertencia que nos hace reconocer que terremoto puede occurir en cualquiera momento.
「絶対」だなんて、誰も言えないし、わからない。
No one can say "never", and no one can predict everything.
Nadie puede decir "nunca" y nadie puede predecir nada.
でも、日本もイタリアも、地震が発生する国だっていうのは、絶対の真実。
However, the absolute fact is that both Japan and Italy are the countries where earthquake happen.

そういう場所に住んでいるんだっていう事実を、どうとらえて、どう行動するか、は
もう個人の問題なのかなぁ。と思います☆
