AIの活用が進む中、ロボットで飲食店の作業をほぼ完結し、
小さなお店は人間一人いれば賄えるようになるかも、という
ニュースを見ました。
開発者の方は、目をキラキラさせて「このロボットがいないと
やっていけません」と人が思うようなものを作りたい、と
語っていました。
この人にとっては、本当に夢があることで、目指す姿に向かって
生き生きとチャレンジをしている様子でした。
見ている方もわくわくする気持ちになりました。
ですが、一方、これまで働いてきた人たちは、自分たちの仕事が
ロボットに取られてしまうのではないか、と心配になるのかもしれません。
一つの事実は、立場が違えば全く違った風景を生み出すのだ、
という当たり前のことを感じた瞬間でした。

ReplyDeleteMachine translation is advancing even faster now driven by COVID.. Positioning of a job as a translator/interpreter will be certainly changed sooner or later.
Even before worrying about that, meaning of "learning a language" itself may totally change....
In the future, no one may bother to learn a language because all the communications can be carried out by AI.. !
Well, those tigers on the wall look amazing, right?!
So basically when I first saw them, I thought they must be moving with some mechanical system or something! However, they were actually physically carved in the wall.. ! I couldn't believe it!!
I realized that there are still many things which surprise us without using capability of AI or advanced technology :-)
