通訳の仕事をしていると、本当にさまざまな英語に出会います。
非英語圏の英語に接する機会はどんどん増えていると思います。
特に苦労するのがインド英語。。
あの猛スピードと抑揚、そして発音。。
英語圏の人も難しいと言っているのを聞いたことがあります。
逆に英語が苦手な日本人の方で、インド英語だけはわかる、という場合も
あるようで不思議です！
そして広東語訛りやシンガポール英語なども
苦労することがあります。
日本語訛りもわかりにくいと思われているのかな？と気になりますが。。
長年の課題ですが、なんとか克服できるよう
いろんな観点で取り組んでいきたいと思っております^^!

ReplyDeleteWow, I didn't know that birds can communicate each other and even use a sentence!! That's amazing..!
I have heard that birds have something called syrinx, which is like vocal folds of human. And some kinds of birds can make a complex tweet.
I often wonder if dogs and cats can communicate. They may have their own way of communication but may not have a "language"...?
I am in particular interested in what phonetic/phonological characteristics are difficult for native Japanese speakers to perceive correctly.
I hope I discover something new and intriguing about this topic going forwards ^^!
