✐Un día de Intérprete✏

Long time since the last update of the
Interpreter section^^.

Hace mucho tiempo que no he actualizado
la sección de intérprete.

I had an unforgettable experience in today's work again
while I represent voices of so many people in my daily job.

Tuve experiencia inolvidable hoy

However...
Sin embargo...

So many challenges were in front me as well....
Había desafíos también...

First of all, the venue was so large with 800 capacity...!
Just imagining that here will be full-house made me shiver....:-(

And, furthermore,
the speaker was
the industry authority,
 80 year-old American gentleman...

Y además,
el orador era la autoridad del industría,
el caballero de 80 años de edad.

What shall I do if I cannot understand what he says?!

Well, now,
I've just got to do it.

Bueno
¡tengo que hacerlo ya!

Now then,
this time, since so many people are the audience,
our translation style is
consecutive interpretation.
After the speaker speaks some sentences
we translate what he has just said.

Este vez, el estilo será interprete consecutivo.

This time, as we do not interpret spontaneously,
need to take a note and memorize by retaining the speech,
 and furthermore,
everyone just listens to us, interpreters,

Hay que memorizar las frases del orador
y interprete cuando todo el mundo
escuchanos, intérpretes atentamente...

therefore,
even though I am not the main speaker,
I want to give the same impression,
and the same passion to the audience
just as if they would have got it directly from the speaker.

Aunque no soy el papel principal,
quiero dar la impresión misma
y la pasión misma a los espectadores
como si hubieran recibido directamente del orador.

The thought of the speaker,
being 80 years old,
full of passion and energy.
The speaker who has lived for 80 years,
of which he devoted his 60 years in the same business.
Can I really convey the words of such a person as he?

But I will.

Claro que sí.

because, that's my mission.
porque, es mi misión.

In a different country,
in a totally different generation,
gender, and experience,
I am so different in everything from him,
and he still leaves up to me for his precious words
and his incomparable experience in his life.
And, many people
are listening to me so hard
to understand the words of this great man.

En un país diferente,
de la generación muy diferente,
sexo y experiencia,
soy muy diferente en todos de él,
y él todavía confiar sus palabras preciosas
y sus experiencias incomparables a mi.
Además, mucha gente está
escuchandome muy atentamente
para entender las palabras del gran hombre.

When I thought of this,
I made up my mind
to definitely have everyone
understand entire his message,
and his way of life that he has lived.

とはいうものの^^;

Having said that,
just as I had anticipated,
I struggled to get some colloquial words
or some very American expressions.

Sin embargo,
justo como había imaginando,
tuve que luchar con unas palabras coloquiales
o expresiónes muy americanos.

But I cannot stop.
I cannot ask him to repeat either.
I am sure my heart rate was so high
and so was my blood pressure...

But rather than being stuck in the details,
I've got to keep going,
honoring his words,
maintaining his rhythm
to deliver his message constantly.

Tengo que seguir trabajando
manteniendo su ritmo
respetando sus palabras
para entregar su mensaje sin parar.

My partner translator and I get in turn every 15 mins.
Being helped by her,
How long the 15 minutes have seemed to be!

Mi compañero intérprete y yo trabajamos alternativamente
por 15 minutos.
¡Qué largo 15 minutos era!

Cannot see the back of the venue.
If I even imagined it, may be I could not have even said a word...

No puedo ver el asiento trasero.
Si hubíera podido verlo, quizás no podría decir ningun palabra....

Anyway,
let me concentrate on one person
in the very first line
as if I would just talk to this one person.

Let me forget about so many people at the back for the time being.
Put my heart in the words
then that should be reached to all those
who are sitting where I cannot see.

Oh dear,
the job of interpreter could be so exhausting...
I must admit that I thought this way ^^;

However,
today, again
I had such a special experience
that I can rarely do on my own.
The life of the man,
who has made tremendous efforts
to achieve tremendous goals.
This time, I was fortunate enough to
see and experience a bit of such a life
of the great man.

Pero, hoy de nuevo,
tenía experiencia muy especial
que casi nunca puedo hacer mi misma.
Una vida del hombre,
que ha esforzado tremendamente
para lograr las metas tremendas.
Este vez, tuve mucha suerte al
ver y experimentar la vida del
gran hombre.

That's why I love this job.

Por eso me gusta este trabajo mucho.

Now then,
wonder what will happen tomorrow ♪

Bueno, ¿como será día mañana^^?
